This month brings the A to Z Challenge, which I choose to meet with a series of words that thus far may have escaped your attention, sometimes deservedly so. Today's word is
garibaldi

--which I write in lowercase on purpose. The woman's red blouse on the left is a garibaldi, named after the Italian patriot Giuseppe Garibaldi.
What a great theme - I will certainly be checking out the other words you post about - signing up as a follower right away!! So far the only word I have previously come across is garibaldi so lots of new discoveries. Lovely to meet via the A to Z Challenge :)

I seem to have seen Garibaldi as a last name for Italian designers? It just rolls off your tongue, doesn't it? Appropriate name for an article of clothing.
ReplyDeleteA quick Wiki search turned up David Garibaldi, an artist, and a city in Oregon. Hmm, I never knew that.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love Garibaldi biscuits--known as flies' cemeteries when I was at school.
ReplyDeleteI'll be darned. A baked currant sandwich, according to the Web.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the fact that not only did you find and comment on my blog, your A-Z posts are nice and short. I like both red shirts in this one.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Bob.
New follower who hopes to see ya around Life by Chocolate too. Smiles.
