We're thawing out from our recent deep freeze, with temperatures back into the 60s after several days of rolling blackouts for many of us. Yesterday a friend said this was the coldest he'd ever experienced around here since the late 1940s. We had a half-dozen blackouts lasting up to two hours each, while at today's writers' group one person reported a three-hour stoppage and another person reported no outages at all.
