G is for Grand Canyon

Grand Canyon, South Rim 1998
We've been lucky to have visited the Grand Canyon at both the north and south entrances. Whatever praise you may have heard lavished on it is amply justified. My daydream is to ride down into the canyon on a burro, but I'm probably a little to heavy for the animal, and I confess to be a bit squeamish. I can imagine the awe Ferdi Grofe must have felt that inspired him to write the Grand Canyon Suite, which nearly does the canyon justice.

Hi Bob! Another A to Z :) Love your views of the Grand Canyon - funnily enough I visited it yesterday on someone else's blog when they featured Flagstaff!
Have a good challenge and look forward to seeing some more of your posts :)

Hi Bob! I've only been to the south rim but it was so beautiful I can't wait to go back. No burro rides to the bottom for me. I've seen photos of those narrow trails.

I've been to the south entrance but never the north and I did hear there is a big difference between the two. It is just amazing to see the wonderful display of nature there!
